Survivorship Needs for People Living with Advanced and Metastatic Cancers

National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship in May 2022 hosted webinar featuring Dr. Michelle Mollica, Senior Advisor at the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Office of Cancer Survivorship, who discussed understanding and addressing survivorship needs for survivors who are living with advanced and metastatic cancers.

The discussion included Bethany, who was diagnosed at age 30 in August 2018 with stage iV neuroendocrine cancer. She discusses the challenges in getting a diagnosis, and the ongoing challenges she faces as someone who is on surveillance instead of active treatment -- she said she often feels like she falls through the cracks.
